  • Review: LG G5 is one smart smartphone

Tech journalist Marc Salzman posted a review of the LG G5 on the Telus Business Blog (Online). Marc highlighted the Always-On feature, the dual rear-facing cameras and the friends accessories including the CAM Plus, VR Headset, the 360 CAM and more.

Marc stated, "In other words, the LG G5 is the industry's first 'modular' smartphone. You can keep the guts of the phone the same, but swap out the base to add something new. Great idea, and I hope that G5 has many 'Friends' in due time."

  • Consumer Reports Ranks LG G4 Higher Than The Competition

The LG G4 is a powerful handset, what with its Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, 5.5-inch QHD display, and a 16MP camera with Optical Image Stabilization. It also sports a rather sleek design with a leather back that gives off a rather classy vibe, which is why we can’t say we’re too surprised to learn that Consumer Reports has ranked the phone pretty high.

The handset managed to score 78 out of 100 in terms of performance, and interestingly enough despite the fact that LG isn’t as mainstream a brand compared to Apple and Samsung, it managed to beat out both the flagships of Apple and Samsung, with theiPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 ranked fifth together.

Now some might debate the rankings of Consumer Reports and we suppose that is your prerogative, but it’s good to see LG starting to gain more recognition throughout the years. The company has largely been looked at as a Samsung competitor who typically falls short, but in the past year or so, LG has really stepped up their game, what with handsets like the LG G3, LG G4, and let’s not forget the Nexus 5.

LG is also rumored to be working on one of the two Nexus phones this year and it remains to be seen how well-received that particular phone will be. In the meantime do you agree with the ranks? Is the LG G4 deserving of being ranked higher than the iPhone 6 andGalaxy S6?

  • LG's new Tone Active earbuds put function before fashion

Yahoo! News (Online) published a review about the LG Tone Active earbuds. Tech writer, Christian de Looper, highlighted some of the features of the Tone Actives including, the built in microphone, battery life, audio quality, and the ability to pair them with any smartphone.

"The goal of the headphones' design is to enable the earbuds to handle even the more rigorous workouts out there, without compromising an audio quality... The headphones are also sweat and water resistant -- which is a pretty necessary feature considering the fact that the way they're designed is sure to induce more then a little sweat around your neck."
