  • My LG G6 phone test with dual-lens camera

Branche-Toi (Online) featured a review of the LG G6 by Stéphane Vaillancourt as a participant of LG-One’s G6 loaner program. The article compliments the size of the device, the camera quality and the battery life as some of the best qualities of the phone.

In the review, Stéphane states, “The LG G6 is a very good device in general. It is very well in hand, its battery offers an excellent autonomy, the 24-bit audio recording gives very good results, the main camera performs much as much in photo as in video...and one appreciates as much the presence of the FM radio as resistance to water and dust.”

  • Consumer Reports Ranks LG G4 Higher Than The Competition

    lg-g4-industrial-design-16

The LG G4 is a powerful handset, what with its Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, 5.5-inch QHD display, and a 16MP camera with Optical Image Stabilization. It also sports a rather sleek design with a leather back that gives off a rather classy vibe, which is why we can’t say we’re too surprised to learn that Consumer Reports has ranked the phone pretty high.

The handset managed to score 78 out of 100 in terms of performance, and interestingly enough despite the fact that LG isn’t as mainstream a brand compared to Apple and Samsung, it managed to beat out both the flagships of Apple and Samsung, with theiPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 ranked fifth together.

Now some might debate the rankings of Consumer Reports and we suppose that is your prerogative, but it’s good to see LG starting to gain more recognition throughout the years. The company has largely been looked at as a Samsung competitor who typically falls short, but in the past year or so, LG has really stepped up their game, what with handsets like the LG G3, LG G4, and let’s not forget the Nexus 5.

LG is also rumored to be working on one of the two Nexus phones this year and it remains to be seen how well-received that particular phone will be. In the meantime do you agree with the ranks? Is the LG G4 deserving of being ranked higher than the iPhone 6 andGalaxy S6?

  • Capsule Le Cahier: Choisir le bon téléphone intelligent selon votre style d'utilisation

Branche-toi Best Buy Blogue (French) posted an article about the best smartphones based on the different styles of usage. Journalist Melanie Boutin-Chartier highlighted the LG G4 for consumers who love capturing pictures on Instagram and using other social networks.

Melanie states, "This LG device has a front camera of 8 mega pixels and surpasses the previous model -- this time with a rear camera of 16 mega pixels. The special feature of this phone is the ability to insert a microSD memory card to add additional storage. Another feature that is important, especially if you like to take a lot of pictures and videos, is that this phone records in 1080p."

  • LG 55EG9600 55-Inch 4K OLED TV: The Best Looking Television, Period

It's a terribly corny and reductive thing to declare any single company as the winner of CES. But LG may have done just that. No other company presented as many standout, eye-catching products. We have a lot of LG to talk about, but let's start with its new 4K OLED TVs. Despite the image quality advances touted by competitors, LG's organic light-emitting diode (OLED) panels delivered the deepest blacks of any TV we saw at the show. This isn't much of a surprise. We came to the same conclusion after testing last year's 55-inch OLED, an HD display whose image resolution couldn't match that of 4K TVs, but whose inky black contrast levels were unmatched.
