Sixteen-Nine (Online) featured an article discussing LG’s showings at the ISE tradeshow in Berlin. Journalist Dave Haynes discusses the LED film that LG released earlier in the year.

He states, “The LEDs have a 24mm pixel pitch display – which means this is tech intended for ambient visuals and not for delivering important information. At that pitch, text would look from about 200 feet back. This (below) is what I shot at ISE. I love the tech, but it really is meant for distance viewing when your eye can’t resolve the individual pixels.”

  • LG unveiled a translucent, rollable OLED so big you could use it as a blanket

Yahoo! News (Online) featured an article highlighting the 77-inch transparent flexible OLED display showcased at the Society for Information Display (SID) conference in Los Angeles. The article goes on to describe how LG Display is pioneering LCD innovations, establishing “a new display paradigm” with OLED technology.

The article states, “Combining its transparent and rollable OLED display technologies, especially in a display this size, shows that LG is making great progress. The panel itself is capable of the standard Ultra HD (UHD) resolution of 3840 × 2160 with 40 percent transparency and can be rolled up to a radius of 80mm without any negative effects on its functionality. At first, you might wonder how transparency could work in your living room, but looking at the Ambient mode in Samsung’s latest TVs shows how it could be useful, blending into your decor rather than sticking out like, well, a TV.”
